I did unsubscribe from WAPO right after Beezus decided Kamala Harris was not important enough to endorse. Sadly, I’d just renewed my annual subscription, and there was NO REFUND. So my subscription is still good until September. Haven’t felt the need to log in, only to read those favorites whose newsletters/opinions I subscribed to. WAPO lied. Democracy does not die in darkness. It dies right in front of us in bright daylight. Welcome, Glenn!
I'm also glad to see you here. I couldn't read more than you wrote in the email because I had unsubscribed to the WP and they put a paywall up. (Not even the occasional free article apparently. I hope you'll write it again, maybe differently in some way, so that I can read the info and you don't get in copyright issues. (I'm assuming WaPo owns the story if it's in there.). I'm sorry to see this happening. Best wishes with your books and look forward to seeing whatever you do.
Welcome Mr. Kessler. I recently cut a podcast on next up with Mark Halperin. I would challenge you to go back in with an open mind read any, and every story in the times, and the Washington post read those stories as if you were a conservative Republican not necessarily a huge Trump supporter, but a conservative Republican and tell me you don’t come up with the tremendous bias that is evident in every single story.
I suggest all writers for the New York Times and the Washington Post look into 2 things: #1. Trans Journalists’ Association Style and Reportage Guide, easily searched, which tells you reporters exactly what to say about men claiming to be women but also convicted of violent crimes (never report), what to say about the ex-wives of men now claiming to be women (never, ever report), and what to say about confused youth who got body parts removed, only to regret and become suicidal because of these treatments which were advertised as “preventing suicides.” #2. Watch the documentary, Behind the Looking Glass at Lime Soda Films YouTube channel by now cancelled auteur, Vaishnavi Sundar. This film presents the testimonies of 18 trans widows, exactly we women who divorced suddenly demanding, suddenly 24/7 crossdressing husbands. Then ask yourself, why did we obey the demands of “Trans Journalists” and why didn’t we care about the sexual harassment of women, harassment that involved a husband and his therapist demanding the wife play “male sex roles” using dildos and recreating the scenarios in sissy hypno pornograpy? Just, why? Before you respond, do the work. Read the “style guide” and watch Behind the Looking Glass. Ute Heggen, author, In the Curated Woods, True Tales from a Grass Widow (iuniverse, 2022)
Welcome to Substack, Glenn - the newest source for accurate, honest, intelligent news and opinion. Like many Substack readers, I am way past my financial limit for paid subscribing, and probably overloaded myself on my favorite writers. But here we are. Happy writing!
Substack needs to think hard. They need to introduce a new pay model, perhaps offer a yearly/monthly subscription through which you can view any writers feed. It’s ridiculous for most ordinary folk to be expected to pay $60-$100 plus for a single feed. Before you know it, you’re spending well over a thousand dollars and counting. What was originally an avenue for independent writing has clearly just become a business.
Gotta cancel the WP and use savings to become a paid subscriber.

Glad to see you here.
Looking forward to your posts. I hope you can continue the cat GIFs, although I know that someone else was responsible for them.
And congratulations on the new career direction!
