Welcome!

I’m Glenn Kessler. I spent nearly 30 years at The Washington Post, most recently writing The Fact Checker column. Previously, I served as the paper’s chief diplomatic correspondent for almost a decade. I have published two nonfiction books: The Confidante: Condoleezza Rice and the Creation of the Bush Legacy (St. Martin’s Press, 2007), which The New York Times Book Review called “brilliantly reported,” and Donald Trump and His Assault on Truth (Scribner, 2020), which was a national best-seller. I’ve won numerous journalism awards, including sharing in two Pulitzer Prizes. In 2025, I won the Nellie Bly award for investigative reporting.

Since I left The Washington Post in mid-2025, I’ve been working on a variety of projects, including a novel (set in 1920s Dutch East Indies), and this Substack.
